Introducing KAIROS: the new Pininfarina design for Oceanco

The 80m Kairos is one of twelve concepts developed for Oceanco by design firms from around the world as part of the Simply Custom range—a line of futuristic design projects based upon a unified technical platform. Each of these concepts has the potential to find a buyer and proceed to the build phase.

The Italian studio, known primarily for its work with Ferrari and other top automotive manufacturers, first unveiled this concept in 2021. At that time, it was a bold design for a 90-meter asymmetric vessel featuring expansive open decks. By 2024, the project was reworked to align with the Simply Custom platform, reducing its length to 80 meters and adapting the vessel's appearance to current standards while retaining its asymmetric elements.

Key features of the Simply Custom platform: 

• 80m (262ft) and approximately 2,400-2,800GT
• Efficient hull design by Lateral Naval Architects
• Hybrid propulsion and energy architecture system incorporating a DC grid and onboard battery energy storage
• Variable-speed generators with the capability to run on low-carbon biodiesel fuels such as HVO
• Stabilization system
• Pod drives with options of dynamic positioning and virtual anchoring
• 16.5 knot top speed and 14-15 knot cruising speed, with 5,000nm range at 12-14 knots
• Owner's stateroom plus six guest suites
• SCR exhaust system with continuous diesel particulate filter operation
• Forward helideck, main deck aft pool, beach club and dedicated e-toy storage room.
