IPYD Studio Presents AETHER Concept for Oceanco Simply Custom Platform

Designer Ira Petromanolaki’s latest creation combines bespoke aesthetics with Oceanco’s standardized technical platform, developed in partnership with Lateral Naval Architects. The concept was first introduced at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Geometry forms the foundation of AETHER’s design narrative. Drawing from the triangle as a symbol of equilibrium, the yacht’s lines converge toward an imaginary vanishing point beyond the visible horizon, creating infinite continuity. “We reference the concept of convergence in theoretical space, as seen in advanced geometry,” explains Petromanolaki. “The lines appear to meet at an imperceptible point beyond our physical plane, in the Aether.”

This approach creates a sleek, sculptural form with flowing lines and dynamic presence. The yacht is conceived for owners who appreciate exploration, elegance, and enduring luxury, serving as a personal sanctuary for entertainment, relaxation, and natural connection.

“We create an experience,” states Petromanolaki. “A personal sanctuary on water that embodies the owner’s character, enabling them to truly feel at home.” This owner-focused approach defines IPYD’s design methodology, emphasizing collaboration and emotional resonance. Each component, from spatial planning to material selection, is chosen to complement the owner’s lifestyle and elevate their maritime experience.

The interior design prioritizes owner experience through natural environment integration, personalized spatial arrangements, and open-plan configurations.

The beach club showcases a neutral palette with ambient lighting, featuring a spa pool, bar area, and lounging spaces.

While AETHER remains a concept, it is built-ready through Oceanco’s Simply Custom technical platform. The design incorporates an optimized and efficient hull by Lateral Naval Architects, with a gross tonnage of approximately 2,500-2,700 GT.
