PROJECT ANTHOS: a megayacht converted from a container ship

Oceanco and Mario Biferali Yacht Design (MBYD) have revealed a 150m Nacht® Project Anthos concept. The new project combines the functionality of a commercial vessel with the comfort of a megayacht.

The term Nacht® is derived from the words Naval and Yachting, and symbolises the symbiosis between commercial shipping and luxury yachting. The first in the series, Project Anthos, is conceived as a 150m container ship conversion.

With an estimated gross tonnage of 10,630 GT, megayacht Anthos exhibits simple functional lines reflecting her past as a container ship, but will be packed with luxury amenities for any lengthy stay on board.

A distinctive feature of the vessel — the three-storey superstructure tower, which will house the owner's suite with a private promenade deck and panoramic views. Guest accommodations include VIP suites and guest cabins, with rooms for children and nannies. The 54-person crew will be accommodated in 27 cabins. The captain will have a separate cabin on the bridge deck.

The deck will have a helipad for large helicopters, wind-protected sports courts, an extensive swimming pool, a bar and several lounge areas. Inside, there will be a full-beam gym, a Pilates and yoga studio, a wellness area with sauna, hammam and beauty salon. The yacht will also have a cinema and media room, and many living areas can be adapted for scientific purposes during research expeditions.
